How I Went from Zero Jobs to Top Talent on Upwork in Just One Year #2
This week let's focus on getting interview invitations and your proposals.
Last week, we applied for a job on Upwork together. You learned how to create proposals based on your skills and the job description. I also shared my special secret on how to address clients.
In the past 24 hours, I've received two different invitations (see below), and guess what? Two of my proposals were viewed. As I've mentioned, I don't add extra connections to my proposals. Most of the time, you don't need to do that if you follow the steps I shared with you last week.
Let's face it: Employers don't read irrelevant details about you. They spend less time than you'd guess, averaging just 7 seconds. How did I come up with this? Eye-tracking research by ladders shows that recruiters spend 7.4 seconds on a resume.
Knowing is not enough; you should apply the knowledge you've gained. To do that, you need to be aware of the facts. In this article, we'll use this information and more to create compelling cover letters that will help you land the job you want.
