Justice in Chicago isn’t blind; it’s selective. After analyzing 182,111 crime incidents from 2025, I discovered something shocking: if you deal drugs, you’re almost guaranteed to get arrested (94.75%). If you steal a car? You have a 93% chance of walking free.

In this project, we used three analytical approaches to decode Chicago’s crime patterns:

  1. Statistical Hypothesis Testing: Exposing arrest rate disparities

  2. Geographic Hot Spot Analysis: Mapping the danger zones

  3. Machine Learning Prediction: Building an AI that reveals enforcement bias

The findings challenge everything we assume about urban safety.

Our New Data Report System: From Analysis to Reporting and Learning

This project follows our proven 4-section framework designed for business leaders and data enthusiasts alike:

  1. Executive Summary: 3-4 key findings with quantified impact

  2. Learning Module: Educational walkthrough, for this project, statistical hypothesis testing, and machine learning (with code you can try yourself)

  3. Deep Dive Analysis: Three detailed method breakdowns with visuals

  4. Implications & Recommendations: What the findings mean and what to do about them

Why this structure? You get the headline findings immediately (Executive Summary), learn the techniques (Learning Module), understand the details (Deep Dive), and take action, all in one comprehensive report.
